We are looking for an experienced Regional Engineering Lead, Operations (Automation) to oversee and optimize our automation systems across multiple regions. As part of a dynamic team, you will be accountable for all automation equipment, lead engineering teams, drive process improvements, and pioneer the implementation of new technologies to enhance our logistics and sort operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop opportunities towards sort operations and logistics automation for all regions together with the Regional/Country Ops and Country Automation teams
- Overall management of Regional maintenance and engineering teams
- Accountable for all automation equipment status including installation, maintenance and sustainability and performance of all systems in all regions
- Comprehensive understanding of all automation systems in regions and provide support and improvements to the system as required by Regional and Country teams
- Training and advisory to Regional and Country Operations for use and upkeep of the systems together with safety and security advice
- Review budget and accounting for maintenance and spare parts for Maintenance of all automation systems
- Key holder of engineering KPI markers upwards to Country and Regional management
- Manage integration of Ninja Van software systems with automation software systems
- Conduct review and analysis of sort operations regionally with regards to conduct and performance of sort operations
- Improvement of warehouse operations to facilitate cost savings and performance gains
- Pioneering new automation technology implementation into operational process flows in logistics environment
- Accountable for SLA indicators for automation system to vendors together with ensuring accountability of these SLAs
- Ensure maintenance scheduling and manpower for the upkeep of all automation systems in countries
- Ensure all work from Automation team (Regional and country) is detailed and recorded reliably
- Ensure cost effective planning, design and selection of facilities and equipment
- Assessments for the performance of all automation systems in Country
- Review and ensure budget of spare parts and inventory management is correct
- Overall Subject Matter Expert for Automation at Regional level
- Ensure performance metrics of sort operations through automation systems and adjacent processes
- Champion cost savings of operations in warehousing and adjacent operations through process or automation improvements
Job Requirements
- BS Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in relevant industries and project implementation, ideally material handling systems
- 1-3 years of experience leading multi-location remote engineering teams (Automation in industrial or e-commerce experience preferred)
- Broad geographical experience across different cultures, with a minimum of 1-3 years in ASEAN
- 3-5 years of Warehouse, Logistics and/or Industrial operations experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent people management skills
- Startup mindset with problem solving initiative
- Advanced spreadsheet experience
- Good data analysis experience
- Keen business acumen and a deep understanding of financial outcomes while making high judgment decisions collaborating with sourcing, manufacturing and deployment teams
- Knowledgeable in safety and security requirements for automation systems, including conveyors and moving parts
- Experience with data integration processes through API or FTP protocols
- PLC/SCADA experience
