The Position: AP Economics Teacher

We are actively seeking experienced AP Economics Educators to engage with our students virtually. This is a fully remote, contractor position. Proof of previous AP Economics instruction must be clearly visible on your resume.

This role is perfectly suited for high-performing educators who currently teach AP Economics during the school day and wish to supplement their income with extra teaching hours, primarily during after-school hours and on weekends from September through May.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Geographic Eligibility: Applications are strongly encouraged from candidates based in both the United States and Canada.
• AP Teaching Expertise: Proven classroom experience instructing AP Microeconomics AND AP Macroeconomics in a reputable educational environment is a strict requirement.

• Virtual Proficiency: Must be highly skilled in utilizing various online teaching tools, virtual whiteboards, and digital learning platforms for effective class delivery.
• Availability: Must guarantee reliable availability during high-demand after-school and weekend hours throughout the core academic year (September - May).

Key Instructional Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare engaging, high-level lessons that fully adhere to College Board AP Economics standards.
• Deliver highly effective synchronous instruction to small student groups, typically ranging from 1 to 12 students.
• Actively work to foster and enhance students' enthusiasm and genuine analytical interest in the field of economics.
• Provide prompt, detailed, and constructive feedback on student homework, practice tests, and formal assessments.
• Instructors can anticipate being scheduled to teach for a minimum of 4 hours per week.

Compensation & Hiring Information

• Compensation: Remuneration will be calculated and determined based on scheduled teaching hours and prior relevant experience.
• Current Hiring Needs: Exploring Scholar is also currently hiring for other roles, including in-person Math, Science, Physics, and English (ELA) positions, in addition to remote AP Statistics and AP Computer Science roles.
