We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Supervisor to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of both the lounge and the fine dining restaurant.

Role Overview

The Supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional service standards and efficient workflows in both the lounge and restaurant areas. This individual will lead by example, support the team, and act as a point of contact for staff and guests. The Supervisor will also assist the Restaurant Manager in scheduling and maintaining a cohesive and motivated team. The role includes assisting behind the bar when required to support the overall operation.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Supervise front-of-house staff during service to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide hands-on support to the team, assisting with service and bar duties as needed.
  • Act as a mentor, offering guidance and feedback to staff to enhance performance.
  • Coordinate daily pre-service briefings, communicating key updates, menu details, and guest notes.

Service Excellence

  • Ensure guests receive an exceptional experience from arrival to departure.
  • Monitor service flow, addressing any issues promptly and professionally.
  • Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and complaints with discretion and efficiency.
  • Maintain a visible presence in both the lounge and restaurant, supporting the team and interacting with guests.

Bar Support

  • Step in to assist behind the bar during busy periods, ensuring efficient and high-quality beverage service.
  • Maintain knowledge of wine, cocktails, and other beverages to assist with guest recommendations and preparation.
  • Support bar inventory management and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Operational Management

  • Oversee the preparation and readiness of the lounge and restaurant before service.
  • Monitor table turnover, seating arrangements, and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hygiene standards.
  • Assist with inventory management and stock control for the lounge, bar, and restaurant.

Administrative Duties

  • Support the Restaurant Manager with staff scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage for service.
  • Assist with training and onboarding new team members.
  • Monitor and record staff performance, providing feedback to the Restaurant Manager.
  • Contribute to operational reports and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous supervisory experience in a fine dining or upscale hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine and cocktail pairings.
  • Experience in bar service, including preparation of cocktails and handling busy bar operations.
  • Familiarity with reservation systems and point-of-sale systems.
  • Certification in food safety and hygiene is an advantage.
  • A passion for fine dining, hospitality excellence, and beverage service.

Working Hours

  • Full-Time Role: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
  • Thursday to Sunday availability is required to align with Upstairs @ Neighbourhood operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €14.50-€16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
