Restaurant Supervisor/Duty Manager

Are you a passionate hospitality professional with strong leadership skills and a genuine love of great food, wine and people?

Probys Kitchen is a vibrant, independent restaurant in the heart of Cork City, close to St Finbarr’s Cathedral. Already known for its fresh Irish cooking, quality service and strong sense of community, we are now seeking a Restaurant Supervisor to lead our evening service on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights.

Probys Kitchen is led by Pat, Head Chef and former Ballymaloe Cookery School tutor, alongside Marianne & Denis, the team behind Café Gusto and Liberty Grill. We share a clear philosophy: cooking from scratch using seasonal, sustainable Irish ingredients, delivered with warm, professional hospitality.

The Role

As Restaurant Supervisor/ Duty Mananger , you will play a key role in the running of the dinner service, supporting the owners and leading our front-of-house team by example.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth, efficient service
  • Leading, training and motivating a busy FOH team during service
  • Maintaining high standards of customer care and food & beverage knowledge
  • Working closely with the kitchen and management team to deliver seamless service
  • Handling guest feedback professionally and proactively
  • Assisting with staff training, rotas and service standards

This is a hands-on role, suited to someone who enjoys being on the floor and leading from the front.

About You

  • Proven experience at supervisory or assistant management level in a busy restaurant or café
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
  • Calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure
  • Excellent knowledge of wine and coffee (essential)
  • Passionate about food, hospitality and team development

We are flexible in this being a full-time or a part-time job to fit the right candidate circumstances and the renumeration is also open for discussion

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From €17.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Restaurant: 3 years (required)
  • Barista: 1 year (required)

Work authorisation:

  • Ireland (required)

Work Location: In person
