Position Objective:
The role of the Retail Store Manager is to provide oversite and general management of the retail store at PEC Toronto. The retail store will offer a wide array of Porsche and PEC products, including car accessories, clothing, and memorabilia.
The Porsche Experience Center (PEC) is a brand immersion destination for automobile enthusiasts. It offers the ability for guests of all ages to take in the heritage of the brand, experience the Porsche lifestyle and the thrill of the drive, allowing Porsche to build connections with people from all walks of life. Guests visit the PEC primarily to engage in driving experiences behind the wheel of a Porsche vehicle on a purpose-built driver development track.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the retail team in alignment with PEC Management and Porsche Cars Canada
- Ensure seamless daily operations between all PEC departments, providing strategic and operational leadership
- Championing floor leadership and exceptional guest experience by leading from the floor
- Monitor and report to Porsche on agreed deliverables vs. budget
- Owning all product/inventory management at your store, including executing product walkthroughs, overseeing visual merchandising and sell-through
Prior to PEC Opening:
- Support the operations process for PEC Toronto
- Establish retail store procedures with the Operations Manager for PEC Toronto
- Recruit & Hire team members
Once PEC is Open:
- Support PEC strategic and tactical objectives, leading projects from conception to final execution
- Develop and budget retail store sales and inventory management
- Supervise key events at the PEC with cross-functional support
- Business planning and analysis to foster growth, team performance and evaluate and overcome challenges to the business and operation
- Establish individual employee targets, hold half-year and yearly performance and target review meetings with staff
- Running a profitable store by enrolling the entire team to achieve sales targets and driving discipline in labor planning and controllable expenses
- Support and lead various facets of the new hire process and team member retention
- Provide support and concepts to actively expand the PEC business and to guarantee respective resources
- Monitor and deliver KPI’s, brand intent, and customer experience to ensure programs deliver against targets
- Responsible for sustaining a positive workplace culture that supports team engagement and Porsche passion
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing Degree preferred, or equivalent
Experience (Job and Industry):
- 3 to 5 years of leadership and retail management experience
- Experience in the automotive industry and/or a track environment is preferred but is not a requirement
- Demonstrated experience building and leading teams
- Proven success in a fast-paced corporate environment and culture
- Background and proficiency in delivering an exceptional guest/customer experience
- The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, be solutions-focused, proactive and look for new ways to maximize value for Porsche
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to motivate both individuals and the overall team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel and PowerPoint
- Finance/accounting skills to manage and track budgets
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects
- Strong analytical skills and leader skills
- Highly organized, target oriented mindset, works well without close supervision
- Ability to set and meet challenging deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to operate both standard and automatic vehicles
- General computer experience (Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, Database software)
- The ability to foster positive and productive work relationships
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by event schedules
- English required, French preferred, German a plus
