Job Summary
MSS Security is seeking an experienced Rostering Coordinator – Major Events to support high-volume rostering for summer major events and a new events contract. This role is critical in coordinating large-scale resourcing to ensure continuity of service delivery, operational efficiency, and high-quality outcomes during peak event periods.
About the Role
This is an initial 3-month position created to support increased operational
demand across major summer events and a new major events contract.
You will work closely with the Major Events team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where accuracy, responsiveness and strong rostering capability are critical to success.
Job Description (Key Responsibilities)
- Coordinate and manage large-scale rostering for major events and event-based contracts
- Support resourcing for summer major events and new contract
- Maintain and update rosters in Rolecall (or equivalent system)
- Monitor coverage for leave, vacancies and unplanned absences
- Liaise with Operations and Major Events stakeholders to ensure staffing requirements are met
- Support optimisation of rosters to balance service delivery and cost efficiency
- Assist with reporting on overtime, roster variances and coverage gaps
- Ensure accurate staffing data, including licence and training compliance
- Support continuity of service during high-volume and time-critical periods
- Flexibility to work additional hours is essential, including potentially on weekends
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in rostering large staffing groups, with short notice changes
- Strong understanding of workforce coordination and resourcing
- Experience using rostering systems (e.g. Rolecall or similar)
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- Full Australian working rights
Desirable:
- Experience supporting major events or high-volume operations
- Experience in security, events, facilities or similar service-based industries
- Understanding of operational cost drivers (overtime, leave and coverage optimisation)
