The Opportunity
Working with the Infrastructure, Transportation and Civils Team, the Engineer will provide leadership or provide support in delivery of master planning, technical due diligence, feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed engineering design of various projects.
Provide site-wide and road grading design, road network layouts, pavement designs, design of cut and fill arrangements, design of stormwater, potable water and firewater network and distribution system, and utility corridors to support project site development.
The role is based in Manila office.
Your role in our team
- Conducts and supervises facility and site inspection, job hazards, analyses and other evaluation to identify hazards and potential risks.
- Conduct site inspections and produce observation report for contractor’s action.
- Ensure contractor completes remedial measures on site safety deficiencies.
- Oversees the safety performance of all contractors and is responsible for ensuring all works abide to the safety requirements approved by DOLE.
- Review Construction Method Statements.
- Oversees the contractor’s works in terms of safety.
- Conduct safety awareness talks and information bulletins for Arup site staff.
- Responsible for preventing hazards and maintaining the safety practices of all personnel on the job site.
- Attend safety walks and safety meetings.
- Produces safety related information and statistics for monthly report.
- Attends pre-construction and construction meetings.
- Conducts post-accident investigation and do necessary recommendations for changes in equipment, processes and other safety related issues to correct unsafe conditions.
- Acts as a focal person of Arup during DOLE visitorial inspection and provides information as may be required
- Conducts accident investigation, validates root causes, monitors implementation of effective of corrective action

Is this role right for you?
- College Graduate of any course
- More than 3 years’ experience as Safety practitioner
- Safety Officer Level 2 certification with advance and specialized OSH-related training
- Knowledge of national industry and/or construction health & safety standards
- Knowledge of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 9001 and 14001
- Good communication skills with the ability to present health & safety related topics
- Willing to accept a project-based employment.
