Safety Officer/Pco
  • Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines.
  • Advising on safety measures and conducting risk assessments.
  • Identify potential long-term risks or areas of concern.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies.
  • Enforcing preventative measures.
  • Collaborate with other departments or teams to integrate safety and health measures into their operations.
  • Conduct more detailed and in-depth safety audits and hazard analyses.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements in processes or equipment to reduce risks.
  • Promoting a safe workplace and providing training.
  • Investigating incidents to improve overall safety
  • Develop and implement specialized safety and health programs tailored to specific needs or sectors of the company.
  • Evaluate and recommend new safety equipment or technologies that can enhance workplace safety.
  • Oversee investigations into more complex incidents or accidents.
  • Analyze trends in incident reports to identify potential areas of concern and recommend preventive measures.
  • Provide guidance, support, and direction to ensure effective implementation of safety programs.
  • Monitor compliance with both internal safety policies and external regulations.
  • Prepare more detailed or specialized reports for management or regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and update emergency response plans.
  • Lead or oversee emergency drills and simulations to ensure effectiveness.
  • Engage with management, stakeholders, or external partners to promote and advocate for safety initiatives.

PCO

  • Identify significant environmental aspects and impacts of operational activities and recommend possible mitigating measures.
  • Attend to all permitting and registration requirements prior to the construction or operation of pollution sources and control facilities.
  • Submit Self-Monitoring Reports (SMRs) and Compliance Monitoring Reports (CMRs) periodically.
  • Report any environmental incidents or exceedances in effluent and/or emission standards within a stipulated time frame.
