Sales Associate/Cashier At Pet Store

We are seeking a friendly and dynamic Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and promoting products effectively. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be organized, and possess a passion for sales and customer engagement. Bilingual abilities and experience in technology or retail sales are a plus, helping to enhance the shopping experience for diverse customers. Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases
• Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling and credit transactions
• Conduct product demos and provide detailed information about merchandise
• Upsell products and suggest complementary items to increase sales
• Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure product availability
• Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism
• Manage cash register operations including balancing drawers at shift end
• Ensure a clean and welcoming store environment at all times
• Assist in inventory management and stock replenishment as needed
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills to engage with diverse customers effectively

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
• Familiarity with POS systems and retail merchandising techniques
• Ability to perform product demos and explain features clearly
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Should be able to lift 40lbs +
• Professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation
• Ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining a positive attitude

Pay: From $17.60 per hour
