We are looking for a Sea Logistics Reefer Operational Care Manager to lead the Cooltainer Operations team across both AU & NZ. Reporting to the Director Reefer & Perishables Australia & New Zealand and a member of the Cooltainer Management Team, you will have overall responsibility for leading the AU and NZ operations team cluster, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of operational excellence for Cooltainer across ANZ.
Support the smooth cross-functional collaboration between relevant teams such as Customer Care, Sales, Systems & Processes, Revenue and Customs Team to deliver a great customer experience and drive customer retention
Focus on continuous improvement of processes and controls and agree with key stakeholders as to how to implement these
Maintain strong relationships with various external parties, including transport companies, shipping lines etc.
Manage and analyse the operational performance of carriers to ensure services are provided in line with SLAs
Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with documentation and processes
Ensure strong data quality is available for timely and accurate customer reporting
Analyse your profit and loss and deploy strategic initiatives to optimise performance
Ensure all job costings are accurate and any additional charges are included within the current job file with notation of reason for additional charges.
Where appropriate given the possible value of cost or loss on the job file, ensure a Commercial decision/approval and confirmation is added to any job file.
Collaborate with the Cooltainer Management Team to support the development of new and existing customer targets including pursuing profitable growth in targeted segments and trades
Collaborate with the relevant Kuehne+Nagel branches to provide and share support and resources when required
Conduct regular conversations with all direct reports to discuss and ensure traction on delivering performance and development goals
Ensure your direct reports are equipped with the tools and skills to provide leadership and guidance to their team members, including ensuring everyone knows their daily objectives and are fully empowered to meet them
Provide team members opportunities to gain new experiences and grow by selectively delegating activities
Follow-up to provide additional feedback, guidance and continuously strengthen capabilities based on the skills matrix and personal development plans
Participate fully as an integral member of the Cooltainer Management Team, working collaboratively as required to ensure achievement of overall team objectives, including the success of the KN Experience (EX & CX)
Significant experience of working in a customer focused and facing mindset as a leader and performing positively within a solutions driven environment.
Demonstrated leadership and people management skills; proven track record of successfully leading and developing a high performing team, gained within the shipping or freight forwarding industry.
Demonstrated ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority and expertise, including driving collaboration across teams and functions
Ability to operate in a fast-paced transformative environment under pressure and to tight deadlines
Ability to effectively manage and prioritise your time effectively, especially when under pressure and with a busy workload
Strong organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and delegate appropriately.
Strong attention to details skills coupled with a high level of accuracy
Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, coupled with the ability to listen effectively
Decisiveness in decision making, coupled with the ability to solve problems
Ability to upskill and develop team members through structured training and knowledge sharing
Track record in proactively developing and improving own knowledge, skills and experience
