Senior Buyer And Planner

Job Summary:

The Senior Buyer / Planner will be responsible for the planning and purchasing of items to support the delivery of product to the customer at the highest quality and lowest possible total cost.

The role has a key focus in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the data held in the ERP system, helping to maintain optimal inventory levels at all times.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning & purchasing of materials for all assigned customers.
• Work closely with Customer Service to regularly acquire all forecast / information to facilitate material planning.
• Analyse information and plan for material purchase.
• Negotiates prices and contracts with suppliers
• Monitor and expedite supplier deliveries to meet customers’ demand.
• Control freight cost in from oversea suppliers.
• Regular meeting and communicating with sales to understand customers forecast / demand.
• Monitor / control overall inventories at an optimum level.
• Monitor high value, slow moving inventories and generate management report for review.
• Coordinate with warehouse personnel for incoming good receiving and stock movement.
• Maintain data integrity and settings in system.
• Liaison with Vendors for rejects / slow moving / open orders shipment advice.
• Undertake Ad-hoc duties as required in line with the company’s growth directions.
• Assist materials manager in day-to-day operations.

Candidate Attributes:

• Efficient in MS Office.
• Communications and negotiation skills with good business sense.
• Knowledge on procurement and sourcing processes
• Experience in mechanical hardware fastener e.g., screw, bolts, nuts, fittings and good knowledge of supplier base in Asia region.
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and multi-task

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

• Qualification and experience in Purchasing.
• Experience in supervisory role will be a plus
