Senior Commercial Analyst - Operations

Te Tūranga | About the role:

While this role will see you join our Commercial Finance team and be responsible to our Commercial Manager, your day-to-day work has you operate as partner and advisor within the Operations Leadership group – working in with management groups, but also into the Operations teams themselves. You become an integral part of their team and are responsible for providing a commercial lens and contributing to the creation and execution of operations strategic goals and objectives.

Our Senior Commercial Analysts are key connectors of groups, and they own key commercial relationships with our vendors as well – we have several key partners who are able to provide us with data, reporting, and information which gives us better insights into performance and execution of our Operations focused objectives.

This role, done well, ensures that our Operations Business Unit make the best commercial decisions to positively impact the financial performance of the business.

This position would be ideally based in our Dunedin Hub, but we will consider applications from applicants who could be based from our Christchurch and Auckland hubs as well.

Ōu Pūkenga | About You:

You’ll be a professional with significant experience working in a similar role in the commercial space. Ideally this experience is strongly tied with food production, manufacturing, or export industries, with additional benefit if you’ve worked in the red meat sector too.

Holding a Chartered Accountant designation is not necessary but is immensely beneficial – given the size and complexity of the business unit you’ll be operating in, and the breadth and depth of commercial value that this role had the opportunity to influence.

This role would suit a commercial professional wanting to work in a higly complex environment, who is looking to have an autonomous role and be able to deliver tangible, measurable financial benefits to a large Operations function.

Ideally you will be:

• Confident and people-focused
• Autonomous, ownership focused, and accountable
• Professionally qualified account (CA, CPA etc) with at least 7 years’ experience in a relevant management accounting or commercial role
• Manufacturing background or some sort of similar industry.
• Proficient with manipulating data to gain insight analysis using tools – Excel, PowerBI, Cubes etc.
• Excellent relationship management skills; actively applies a customer service approach to key relationships throughout the business
