Job Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting
- Manage overall financial accounting and management reporting for the Company
- Oversee and drive the month-end closing process. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and group reporting requirements
- Manage audits, statutory filings, and compliance with Singapore regulatory requirements
- Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies, particularly for trading-related transactions (e.g., inventory, derivatives, revenue recognition)
2. Budgeting & Financial Analysis
- Drive the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
- Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to management and trading teams
- Develop profitability analysis by product, counterparty, and trading desk
- Support strategic decision-making through financial modelling and scenario analysis (e.g., price volatility, margin sensitivity)
3. Treasury & Working Capital Management
- Oversee cash flow planning, liquidity management, and bank relationships. Ensure timely processing of payments and manage day-to-day cash positions with banking partners.
- Manage trade finance facilities (e.g., LC issuance, trust receipts, etc.)
- Monitor credit exposure is within the authorised limit.
- Optimize working capital in a high-volume, fast-moving trading environment
4. Commodity & Risk Exposure
- Work closely with traders to understand physical and paper positions
- Support accounting and valuation of derivatives, including futures and hedging instruments
- Monitor mark-to-market positions and ensure proper financial reporting treatment
- Assist in developing and improving hedging strategies and risk reporting frameworks
5. Others
- Pro-active involvement in processes and workflow improvements. Set up & maintain workflow process, when necessary
- Provide support as and when requested by the Company in ad-hoc tasks/requirements.
Requirements
- At least 6 to 8 years of work experience in the field of Financial Reporting, preferably within a major commodity trading house.
- ACCA/CPA professional qualification or a Master's/Degree in Accountancy.
- Familiar with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (I-SFRS) and Singapore Company Taxation & GST.
- Strong understanding of derivative accounting (IFRS/local GAAP), hedging strategies, and trade financing tools
- Comfortable managing non-standard and complex trade structures.
- Knowledge of XERO can be advantageous.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Independent and a self-starter.
- Possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Possess strong interpersonal & communication skills.
- Able to start work within short notice is preferred
Pay: $7,500.00 - $9,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
