Senior Software Developer

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our next generation utilities billing software division . Take a key role in delivering enterprise CRM solutions to key customers in the utilities sector, working closely with architects to design, code, and test software as part of an Agile team. This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Auckland office.

You have almost 10 years of solid experience with Java language and ecosystem. You also have:

• Ability to solve problems, be a team player and to lead parts of technical delivery on a team taking full ownership for the delivered technical solution.
• Knowledge of typical patterns, core libraries and frameworks, object-oriented analysis, design and implementation skills.
• Solid SQL knowledge and working knowledge of Linux.
• Legacy backend experience (e.g., 4GL – an enterprise processing language similar to SQL - desirable).
• Knowledge of Enterprise Java, including: Spring and Hibernate.
• Experience working in an Agile environment (we use JIRA).
• Impeccable English communication.

It would be advantageous if you have:

• Utilities industry or Billing system experience.
• Knowledge of Java performance testing and JSF.
• Knowledge of Java messaging (e.g., ActiveMQ), Kafka.
Knowledge of Kubernetes.

• Designing, coding, and testing software as part of the Agile team.
• Communicating effectively at business and technical levels.
• Updating status and technical documents in Jira.
• Keeping the build green.
• Troubleshooting and escalating issues when necessary.
