Senior Systems Engineer

OmniNet Ltd is a New Zealand cloud-based hosting and Managed Services Provider dedicated to working with our clients to provide the best IT services possible!

We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join the team to provide systems design, deployment, maintenance, and technical support to our clients across both IT and phone services. IT services include email, public & private cloud hosting, backup, server & network implementation & support, security, operating systems, application software and system management tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1, 2, and Level 3 advanced technical end-user support, both remote and on-site, providing a high level of expertise in both hardware and software
• Assess client requirements, quote, and provision products, services, and solutions. Identify new business opportunities and services, contribute to their technical solution design and implementation, and assist prepare, present, and follow up on client quotes and proposals.
• Install, configure, test, support, maintain, monitor, and manage IT and other services.
• Ensure systems are properly maintained and upgraded, including anti-virus, backups, imaging, and patching.
• Provide advanced technical input to other team members and assist with escalations if appropriate.
• Complete and maintain client documentation in line with company policies, including procedures, asset inventories, and infrastructure documentation.

Key Attributes:

• At least 5 years of system Engineer experience (preferably with relevant certifications)
• Proven experience in the support and implementation of Windows Infrastructure
• Advanced skills in the latest versions of Windows Server, Desktop O/S
• Proven network experience and familiarity with routing and VPN
• Proven experience in Active Directory and Group Policy
• Proven experience with high-level implementation and issue resolution
• Able to identify and devise client solutions, excelling in client service and communication.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate self.
• Strong record of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Current & valid clean driver's license.
