In this job you will:

As a Senior WorkCare Claims Management Consultant, you will play a critical role in supporting DHL’s WorkCare team by managing complex claims, providing expert guidance, and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality injury management services.

You will build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, injured workers, treatment providers and external specialists, while driving best‑practice outcomes across the entire claims lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement timely and effective intervention strategies for reported injuries.
  • Manage the complete injury management and claims process in accordance with legislative and internal requirements.
  • Facilitate a safe, durable and timely return to work for injured workers. Maintain accurate and compliant claim records within the claims management system.
  • Provide expert advice to management throughout the injury management, claims and rehabilitation process.
  • Coordinate and authorise rehabilitation and treatment providers as required. Proficiently in accurately classifying claims and support data integrity and reporting.
  • Assist workers in achieving claim compliance by guiding them through legislative and administrative requirements.
  • Coordinate Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) to support liability decision‑making.
  • Review IME and specialist medical reports to determine initial and ongoing liability.
  • Assess, accept or deny claims in line with SRC Act guidelines, ensuring robust and defensible decisions.
  • Contribute to the assessment of claims, with growing capability in determining liability under the SRC Act.

You have the following qualities & qualifications:

  • Proven experience in workers compensation, claims management and return‑to‑work roles.
  • Demonstrated capability in complex claims assessment, including liability determination under the SRC Act.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret medical information and apply legislative frameworks accurately.
  • Proficient in problem‑solving, conflict resolution and making high‑quality, evidence‑based decisions.
  • Strong experience using Excel and preparing clear, professional reports.
  • Excellent communication skills, business acumen and a strong work ethic.
  • Recognition as competent in managing workers compensation claims within a self‑insured environment.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to analyse facts and documentation to support defensible claim outcomes.
