ABOUT US
Abacus Behaviour Consultant provides behavioural support services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Disabilities, and Mental Health concerns. Our primary goal is to increase the quality of life of the individuals we serve.
We are hiring Behaviour Interventionists as Independent Contractors to join our inclusive and supportive team!
BEHAVIOUR INTERVENTIONISTS [BI]
BI’s teach young children with Autism and Developmental Disabilities communication, play, social, motor, self-help and pre-academic skills using clinical and play-based approaches.
BI’s work as part of a team with the Behaviour Consultant. BI’s will learn about and implement best clinical practices, ABA strategies and assistive technologies in one on one sessions with a child in their home.
Sessions will be 3 hours long, 2 days a week.
You must be available 9-12 pm.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Enjoy working and playing with children.
· Strong creativity and great play skills
· Reliable, patient and consistent
· Able to work independently.
· Able to take direction & feedback from others to follow through with prescribed programs
· Able to work calmly with children with challenging behaviours
· Be physically able to “keep up” with busy children throughout their intervention session-running, squatting, kneeling, bending and sitting on child sized chairs
· Complete form for an employer Criminal Record Check
· At least 19 yrs old
· Willing to commit for 1 year
· Fluent in English
RESPONSIBILITES
· Implements 1:1 intervention sessions with child via the programs provided by the Behaviour Consultant
· Accurately records and tracks progress data in child’s program binder; as well as, maintains and organizes binder
· Maintains scheduled sessions and communicates with families and team
· Have respectful interactions with and maintain professional boundaries with families
OUR TEAM
· Abacus Behaviour Consulting allows you to work as an independent contractor; building your clientele as you choose.
· You will be fully trained by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst and will receive ongoing training.
· You will have the opportunity to be trained as a Lead BI and a Junior Consultant in the future.
