Job Description
Roles & Responsibiities
JOB PURPOSE
- A Social Work Associate (SWA) plays an essential role in assisting individuals and communities in overcoming social, emotional, and practical challenges. SWAs are integral to the success of psychoeducational programs and mental health outreach initiatives, providing critical support. They also act as the initial point of contact for clients, performing a triage function to ensure individuals receive the appropriate level of service tailored to their needs.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the planning, execution and evaluation of centre's programmes
- Liaise with external agencies, donors, for purpose of resources and publicity
- Assist in coordinating volunteer recruitment and development as well as preventive and development education programmes
- Provide information and referral services to clients
- Assist in creation and maintenance of social media account/material
- Assist in management and upkeep of data and data systems and records, help with reception duty if needed
- Conduct mental health screening and provide basic emotion support with clients
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum diploma from any disciplines
- Marketing and client service skills in sharing programmes and group presentations
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision
- A good team player, proactive and resourceful
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including using TEAMS/ZOOM
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Willing to work one weekday evening (3-4 months a year / non consecutive months)
- Preferably bilingual in English and Chinese/Malay
