Role Purpose
We are seeking an energetic, flexible, innovative and enthusiastic social worker to join our multi-disciplinary team to provide quality evidence based Social Work service, including assessment of needs, and a range of advisory, practical and skilled emotional supports to adults with disabilities and their families.
The successful candidate will carry a social work caseload and will provide a social work service to adults with an intellectual disability and their families as directed by line management.
The ability to manage and prioritise a busy caseload, and work in an interdisciplinary way using a family centred practice approach are also keys requirements of the role.

Key Resposnibilities
- Provide a social work service to Service Users of Stewarts Care.
- Provide a social work service in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team. Attend multi-disciplinary case reviews and meetings as appropriate.
- Participate in the planning process. Make appropriate arrangements with colleagues in the community, liaise with services and voluntary groups in the community.
- Link individuals with the services/resources appropriate to their particular needs and act as an advocate on behalf of clients.
- Assist and advise carers through support, and counselling and mobilisation of resources in the community.
- Carry out home visits when necessary.
- Be familiar with and work in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations and procedures.
- Participate and lead on audits, research projects and teaching programs involving the Social Work Department and the organisation.
- Complete training needs analysis and reflective practice to assure continuing competency for the role.
- Maintain accurate signed records of all social work intervention and ensure that statistical data on service provision is available as requested.
- To communicate effectively with internal and external agencies including HIQA, Gardaí, HSE, safeguarding and protections teams and Tulsa
The Person
- Possess a National Qualification in Social Work (NQSW)
- Be registered in the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Board at CORU
- A Driving Licence is desirable but not essential.
