Who You’ll Work With
The Information Technology organization is the technological foundation of our business and works in collaboration with our partners from across the company. The team drives technology and digital transformation, partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies through IT and operations services and ensures the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles.
About The Role
This Solution Architect role is ideal for someone who thrives in a strategic, hands-on leadership position, bringing expertise in solution design and the ability to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution. This Solution Architect will play an instrumental role in architecting scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions for complex, enterprise-level environments within the Retirement Services Wealth Management space.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, enterprise architects and other technical teams to understand wealth management business processes and translate them into Architectural blueprints.
  • Contribute to roadmap planning, solution assessments and technical due diligence for new initiatives and vendor platforms.
  • Design and document reference architecture, point of arrival strategy to support key capabilities in Retirement Services space like Portfolio Management, CRM, Compliance, Financial planning and client reporting.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise architecture standards, security protocols and industry regulations (example SEC, FINRA etc)
  • Evaluate and recommend stacks, platforms, SaaS partnerships and tools that enhance digital wealth management experience.
  • Guide and be integral part of Design and Development teams during implementation and ensure alignment with architecture goals.
  • Working with the L&R IT leadership team to embrace contemporary ways of working, attract and develop talent across the firm and leverage economies of scale and shared capabilities.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Business / Industry Knowledge: Demonstrates an understanding of the financial services industry, especially the defined contribution (401k/403b) group retirement and broker/deal and wealth management segments.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong foundation in practical application of technology with a software engineering bias. Proven track record of identifying trends, staying current with skills and helping build an engineering-oriented culture. Good knowledge of APIs, Microservices, Messaging Systems and proficiency with Cloud platforms like AWS/Azure/GCP. Knowledge of Application and Infrastructure security best practices. Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture Frameworks like TOGAF, Zachman Framework

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or proven record of experience.
  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect within the Wealth Management or Asset Management domain, with a track record of designing scalable, secure, high performing architecture and delivering complex financial services solutions.
  • 5+ years of IT / Architecture experience.
  • A comprehensive understanding of investment platforms, client onboarding processes, portfolio management, and the regulatory compliance landscape within the financial services sector.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and ensure cross-functional understanding.
  • Experience working in agile delivery environments, with a strong ability to solve complex problems and a proactive, analytical mindset.
  • Strong leadership and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and platform
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to a variety of audiences.
Work Location
This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Houston, TX office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
