Work Setup: Hybrid (once every quarter)

Location: Singapore, Singapore


Senior Finance Manager APAC is a member of the APAC Leadership Team, working closely with the APAC General Manager and is the overall owner of all Commercial Finance Business Partnering and FP&A deliverables for APAC. Scope includes market, customer and brand analyses for the business unit driving discussions, providing sound financial support in decision making & aligning action points with cross functional team in line with commercial strategy and profitability benchmarks. The role will also provide people leadership for the Commercial Finance/ FP&A team.


Major Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Drives and is responsible for integrated process of Annual Plan, monthly Business Outlook and 3 yr Strat Plan for APAC. With the GM, establishes the business development and strategy of the region. Is responsible to harmonize all cross functional effort through analysis and financials to summarize into presentations/communications for HSY Senior Management team reviews.

  • Supports FP&A Manager for driving timely, accurate and realistic forecasting & management reporting as per International FP&A timelines & IBM calendar. Works closely with India/APAC FP&A team for Geo-cluster reporting & forecasting deliverables.

  • Owns Market P&Ls by Customer/Retailer/ Brand through analyses & insights driven action points. Meets with sales and brand managers regularly to improve margins while optimizing Trade Promotions and Direct Brand investments. Aligns operational plans with the strategy of the business unit and company. Is responsible for identifying and communicating investment opportunities and/or cuts, holding regular meetings with General Manager.
  • Drives business unit’s decision points through data points presented during Consensus and CMBR meetings. Tracks and drives action on Trade Promotion spending, Direct Brand spending, Phasing of P&L, Gross Profit margin by Customer/Brand etc. Champion and co-owner of the Gross Margin Expansion/Continuous Improvement process.
  • Oversees analyses and actively participates in decision making for product portfolio management in coordination with Commercial team. Is responsible for managing profitability benchmarks including Gross Margins and reviews for the product portfolio of the business unit, overseeing Pricing, Strategic Revenue Growth Management financial analyses across products & markets, supporting Commercial Team.
  • Constantly coaches & develops direct reports of Managers & Analysts. Is a key partner for setting up the talent bench and succession planning for the India/ APAC Finance leadership team. Closely collaborates with rest of the Finance leadership team.
  • Invests time to establish an integrated value chain based work relationship with distributors and vendors. Hold regular meetings with the distributors and vendors (and travel where necessary). As per benchmarking: contributes to key financial aspects of distributor relationship such as distributor margin structure, annual target KPI development, conflict resolution, annual contract evaluation, FX rate settlement, payment term and credit limit assignment, overall health of business assessment.
  • Is responsible for actively & constantly seeking improvement and simplification of business processes including financial to increase time and resources efficiency. When necessary, undertakes, coordinates and delivers International level projects, leading projects in process implementation & improvement.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

  • Must have excellent skill level in MS office such as Excel, Presentation,
  • Very good presentation and deeper understanding of Management Accounting.
  • Knowledge/ability to work within SAP and other financial reporting tools
  • Must have excellent Teamwork, Collaboration and Organization skills.
  • Must possess high quality level of Curiosity, Initiative Taking, Status Quo Challenging, Conflict Resolution, Executive Presence, Sensemaking in Ambigious situations and Enterprize/Process/Systems Thinking.
  • Must demonstrate team leader skills, developing & coaching others

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education: Finance / Economics / Accounting / Business

Experience: 10-12 years of experience in a related field

  • Experience FMCG, Food, Consumer Pharma, Any Manufacturing FMCG
  • Someone who has End to End P&L – Small/Large
  • Team Management
