Job Title: Students Transportation Driver
Job Description
You use your own car to drive students from their house to their school in the morning, and then back home in the afternoon when school lets out. You are operating your own car like a school bus.
Pay
- Pay is given based on the number of trips, not the number of students.
- Starting from $35 per trip.
- Pay per trip is determine by mileage.
- You are paid by check or direct deposit every week.
How It Works
- 1-3 students can be assigned per trip. The number of students is determined by the school district.
- Once you become contracted to the company, we will give you an offer, and once you accept the offer, your work begins.
- You report your taxes with a 1099 form.
- The company will consider your location first when assigning you a route, but sometimes you may have to go far. In this case, you have the option of accepting or declining the offer.
- During the school semester, you will need to give rides from Monday through Friday. However, on days students don’t go to school, like on holidays or during break, there is no work. During summer break, you might be able to transport students to summer school.
Requirements
- Punctuality (very important)
- Safely and responsibly transport students.
- Provide excellent service in a friendly and professional manner.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, reporting any issues to management.
- Need to be able to use driver app proficiently on daily basis.
- Must be able to transport students Mon through Fri, usually 7-9 am in the morning and 2-4 pm in the afternoon.

Qualification
- 21 years or older.
- Had a US Driver’s License for at least 3 years.
- Have an Illinois Driver’s License.
- Have your own car that has 4 or more doors, and is less than 15 years old.
- Have personal auto insurance.
- Have a Social Security Number.
- Smartphone with mobile data.
- Need School Bus Permit (SBP) (refer to explanation below)
How to Get SBP (School Bus Permit)
- Take an 8-hour ROE Class managed by the school district, and at the end of the class, you will take a test. You register for this class through the company, and the company will provide you with a study guide.
- Get a Physical Exam, Drug test, and TB test at a location specified by the company.
- Get a Background Check done at a location specified by the company.
- Get a Safety Inspection for the car you will be driving at a location specified by the government.
- Take a 1st Division School Bus Permit Written Test at a specified DMV location. A study guide will be provided.
- Take a Driving Test in the car you will be driving after passing the written test.
- Once you pass all tests and exams, a new driver’s license with SBP printed on it will be sent to you.
- Please note that you CANNOT operate a normal school bus with this license.

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
