About the role

We’re looking for someone with strong organisational skills who can demonstrate a good understanding of how public libraries engage with the local community.
The Branch Coordinator for Success Library plays a key role in the library’s day to day operations with support from the Service Lead – Libraries.
Success Library is the busiest branch of the three Cockburn Libraries and is situated within the Cockburn Integrated Health Facility.
The library plays an Important role in the Cockburn Community delivering numerous programmes that support diversity, engage with young families, and assist the socially vulnerable. This is alongside regular programming that promotes a love of literature and reading, community cohesion, digital literacy, and lifelong learning.
The Success Library team pride themselves on delivering welcoming, responsive and inclusive customer service, making sure that the library remains a vibrant community space.
In this role, your Duties will include:
- rostering and leading the Success library team
- collection development alongside the Collection development team
- delivering and overseeing high-quality customer service
- planning and evaluating programmes and events alongside the Library Engagement and Young People’s services team
- day to day operational matters such as those involving safety, building issues, statistics, administration, procedures, and technical trouble shooting
- contributing to planning and delivering budgets
- helping shape the future direction of Cockburn Libraries’ services and corporate and strategic plans alongside the Senior Leadership team
About You
We’re looking for someone who loves working in public libraries, thrives in a busy environment and has excellent organisational and time management skills.
Someone who has sound professional experience in a similar role leading and mentoring a team to deliver great customer service.
Our preferred candidate will be innovative and forward thinking.
Besides demonstrated experience, the role requires a Qualification in Library or Information Management and eligibility for Associate or Technician membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.

Salary and Benefits: Starting from Level 6 Step 1 ($101,353, pro-rata) of the City of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025, based on qualifications and experience.
