There has never been a better time to join Aurecon! We have a strong and growing pipeline of projects, including some of the most high-profile civil and water engineering projects in the country. Want to bring ideas to life?
What's the mahi?
We are looking for current Civil Engineering students to join our Land and Water business unit to be based in the following locations:
Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington
The Land and Water business unit at Aurecon covers three disciplines: Geospatial, Land Infrastructure, and Water. The positions we are looking to fill sit within our Water Practice.
The Water practice at Aurecon covers Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater (collectively known as the Three Waters) on projects such as treatment plants, pump stations, network modelling and conveyance, and stormwater design & quality control.
The security and resilience of our water resources is essential to every aspect of life. That's why the sustainable management of water infrastructure is a top priority for the water industry. Water utilities, governments, and councils are facing enormous challenges in meeting the infrastructure requirements to serve growing populations and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
What are we looking for from you?
The sort of qualification you're studying towards should be one of the below, or similar:
Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Civil Engineering, or Natural Resources
Bachelor of Engineering in Water and Environmental Systems Engineering
Bachelor of Chemical and Process Engineering
You will be currently studying towards a formal qualification in Civil Engineering and be in either your 2nd or 3rd year of study at a New Zealand tertiary institute. You will need to have the ability to work on a full-time (40 hours per week) basis from November 2023 until February 2024. You will bring:
A passion for changing the way we deliver carbon neutrality and sustainability in everything we do.
The ability to initiate and build relationshops with both your peers and the wider business to push forward the boundaries of what is possible.
Enthusiasm for re-imagining engineering, and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future.
Excitement about your journey with Aurecon.
What's in it for me?
Joining us as a Summer Intern gives you a snapshot of what we are about and opens opportunities to come back as a graduate with us, which means that you can be part of an award-winning graduate programme. We made LinkedIn's "23 Best Workplaces to Grow Your Career" in New Zealand, and GradNewZealand ranked us top 2 in Engineering Consultancies and top 5 in the overall New Zealand Top 100 Graduate Employers list.
You really can bring your whole self to work and be confident that your voice will be heard. We don't just claim that we're inclusive and innovative, it's proven by the independent awards and accreditations we have gained, and we're always seeking new ways to prove (and improve!) our commitment to diversity. In 2018 we were the first engineering company in Aotearoa to be awarded the Rainbow Tick, and we've maintained this certification every year since. In May 2023 we were awarded the Gender Tick - another first for the engineering industry, and to date we are the only engineering company with both certifications!
Ready to bring ideas to life?
Then please apply now! We are an equitable-opportunity employer that values diverse perspectives and the contribution that every one of our people makes to our culture. Put simply, we want you to bring your whole self!
We accept applications from New Zealand citizens, permanent residents, and international students with a current visa who are based in NZ.
