This position is Until Filled, but will have a final filing date of 5/19/2025.
This position is a full-time, 10-month position and works on an academic calendar (August - June).
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Residential Program (SRP) at the California School for the Blind, the Supervising Counselor supervises counseling staff who provide direct residential care services to students. Plans and coordinates activities and programs which meet the identified needs of students; Prepares or supervise the preparation of written schedules, activity plans, and provide guidance and expertise to staff; Contacts parents regarding the students progress and any and all behavioral matters. Participates in the development of individual student plans with academic and other school professionals staff; Ensures back-up support for counselors in activities or in controlling students behavior.
In addition to the below duties, Supervising Counselors are responsible for the accountability, safety and security of students assigned them 100% of the time.)

Working Conditions
This position requires the following pre-employment clearance:
- Tuberculosis (TB) Risk Assessment and or Test
- Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and Department of Justice (DOJ) Fingerprint Clearance.
