Mō te tūranga | About the Role
In this role you will be supporting two fabulous women at a flat on site at our main Hōhepa Campus. Alice is in her early 70's but is young at heart, she enjoys long bike rides and aqua gym as well as knitting, socialising and doing lego. Julia has recently moved in with Alice and she is in her 40's and loves all things creative. She is an accomplished artist and loves to dance, knit and socailise.
Both ladies need support with household tasks, especially healthy food options and helping the ladies live full lives in their communities. We need a confident person who can build strong relationships and with the people we support, be empathetic, be patient, problem solve and apply boundaries or offer space.
Ideally you will be an active person who is happy to go on long bike journeys with Alice to continue her weight loss journey. You will have the confidence to cook healthy meals from scratch and undertake accurate medication administration. You will be passionate about supporting people with an intellectual disability and helping them live a full life.

This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level, pays between $23.15 and $28.25 per hour.

- Sunday 9am to 7pm
- Monday 9am to 11am, 4pm - 8pm,
- Tuesday 9am to 11am, 4pm - 8pm,
Total Hours per fortnight: 44

Your aroha and approach is what really matters at Hōhepa – previous experience is not a prerequisite because we provide on-the-job training. You will either be an experienced Support Worker looking for a change or you are simply looking for a career where your enthusiasm and passion for helping others will make a real difference in people’s lives.
