Mandatory requirement
The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC). To be eligible, you must hold valid photo identification and successfully meet all background and security clearance requirements.

Description:
As a Duty Manager, you’ll take overall responsibility for the daily operations at your airport, ensuring teams deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality services. This is a high pressure leadership role, that is fast-paced and combines people management, operational oversight, and direct liaison with airline partners.

Your work will include:
Managing team performance and providing coaching and support
Overseeing operational safety, compliance, and service standards
Coordinating shift rosters, reporting, and workforce planning
Acting as a key escalation point for problem-solving and disruptions
Building strong relationships with airline representatives and airport stakeholders

We’re looking for someone who can lead with confidence, professionalism, yet remains calm under pressure. You’ll need excellent time management, strong communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities while supporting your team to deliver consistently high standards.

Skills and Experiences:
What You'll Bring:
  • Experience within the Aviation/Airline Industry, with a strong focus on ground handling operations
  • Proven experience managing and motivating a team in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to coach and develop others
  • A valid provisional or full Australian Driver Licence
  • A valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), or the ability to obtain one
  • A valid Airside Driving Authority (ADA), or the ability to obtain one
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict operational deadlines
  • Exceptional customer service focus and a caring approach when dealing with people
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write incident reports in plain English
  • Able to work well in a dynamic, high-volume team environment
  • Agile and adaptable – able to shift priorities and solve problems on the go
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and deliver solution-based outcomes
  • A strong understanding of workplace safety and aviation compliance standards
  • Proficiency in English and competent with Microsoft Office Suite
