This position is a member of our Water Quality Planning Division.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Maintain information system and coordinates informational programs for the Water Quality Planning Division (WQPD) of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
- Provide SharePoint/ShareNet training, guidance and oversight to staff in the Division. Maintain and exchange information with internal and external customers to develop, implement and maintain documents, reports, spreadsheets and internal/external webpages for WQPD.
- Analyze the layout of internet/intranet web pages for accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure materials posted on agency’s internal and external webpages conform to agency, industry, and accessibility standards. Ensure the Division’s guidance, internal and external forms are accessible. Perform routine assessments to ensure the Division’s webpages and all associated content are accurate and working properly.
- Participate in development of activity reports, newsletters, project tracking, and document/record management in support of WQPD functions. Participate in the development and implementation of training activities associated with web enhancements, reporting, project tracking, and document/record management in support of WQPD functions.
We are currently seeking an individual with strong experience in Microsoft SharePoint particularly in creating and managing document libraries and lists within a power platform environment.
This position plays a key role in supporting digital information using SharePoint online and Power Automate and Power BI within the Microsoft Power Platform. SharePoint Modern is a plus.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using Microsoft SharePoint, and/or W3C Editors.
- Experience developing and/or working with web and internet design to improve regulatory processes.
- Experience creating documents and webpages that meet agency and/or industry accessibility standards.
- Experience providing technical support concerning internet or intranet issues.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Webmaster Certification, plus one (1) year of full-time experience in web design, web development, or web programming/coding.
OR
Three (3) years of full-time experience in web design, web development, or web programming/coding.
OR
A bachelor's degree with 12 semester hours in computer science, web design, web development, or web programming/coding from an accredited college or university, plus two (2) years of full-time experience in web design, web development, or web programming/coding.
OR
Completion of 30 semester hours (600 clock hours) in computer science, web design, web development, or web programming/coding from a licensed vocational, technical, business, or accredited college, plus two (2) years of full-time experience in web design, web development, or web programming/coding.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Web Administrator II state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Web Administrator II series.
Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Water Quality Planning Division.
