SUMMARY:
The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities in academic, clinical research, and bio-pharma labs, with a focus on technical expertise in flow cytometry. Achieve the financial objectives of the assigned territory, by effectively identifying and supporting scientists in making beneficial/optimal decisions when purchasing flow cytometry equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for technical sales, pre & post-sales support, marketing and technical feedback, and customer satisfaction relative to sales activities
- Understand and address the technical and application needs of customers and match those needs with the sales of appropriate equipment
- Coordinate and conduct in lab demonstrations, perform post-sale follow up visits to ensure customer satisfaction, and work as a liaison between Field Service, and R&D to address customer equipment performance needs
- Manage administrative duties as assigned: monitoring expenses to budget, timely administrative activity reporting, provide internal feedback regarding competitive products, adhering to OHSA and Universal Lab precautions
- Generate and follow-up on leads by participating in state, regional, and national meetings as directed by Sales Management. Activities include pre-meeting display setup if necessary; meeting support, post meeting display disassembly as needed.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- BA/BS in Life Sciences, Biological areas, Engineering, Business, or closely related discipline
- At least 3 years flow cytometry experience. Previous Capital Equipment Sales Experience preferred.
- Must be self-motivated to succeed and have a mastery of the complex sales process. Computer proficiency is required, including skills with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to travel 50-75 % travel.

- Individual will be able to travel on commercial airlines, train, rental car to call upon potential and existing customers.
- Individual will be required to lift 25lbs without harm, be able to work in a standing position for an hour at a time.
