YOUR DAY TO DAY: (Role summary):

Performs difficult and very complex electronic or electro-mechanical tests where a high degree of versatility is required for testing specific assemblies, sub-assemblies' components under limited supervision.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR: (Responsibilities):

  • Performs difficult electronic, mechanical, and technical assignments such as constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting, testing, repairing, and maintaining electronic and mechanical equipment, tubes, microwave products, electro-mechanical devices, component, and systems, works from schematics, engineering drawings, written or verbal instructions.
  • Conducts testing of electronic and mechanical systems and improvises procedures and standards if necessary.
  • Develops or modifies electronic and mechanical products and equipment to company or customer requirements.
  • Operates related electronics and mechanical equipment necessary to construct, test, troubleshoot, repair, process, and maintain specific products and equipment.
  • Prepares and assists in determining prescribed compounds and solutions for use in processing, etching and metalizing materials.
  • Evaluates various types of electronic and mechanical products and equipment and develops calibration, test, and alignment procedures.
  • Recommends changes or modifications to improve the operation or quality of electronic or mechanical products and equipment.
  • Determine the methods, operations, and sequences in setting procedures for constructing, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, processing, modifying, electronic and mechanical products and equipment as required.
  • Designs and improvises difficult electronic and mechanical equipment, tools, and fixtures as required.
  • Performs the more complex analyses of rejected, returned or in-process microwave tubes in support of engineering/ manufacturing as required.
  • Repairs circuit boards, instruments, or systems for customers or resale and interface with customers by telephone., troubleshooting and/or providing instrument repair cost as required.
  • Provides technical assistance and leadership to others as necessary. Must be willing to train others.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE: (Minimum requirements):

  • Technical school or military training a plus & Minimum of 7 years-experience performing testing successfully and a minimum of 2 years training and leading others.
  • Must possess thorough understanding of microwave test equipment and theory, along with high voltage equipment and safety practices.
  • US citizenship and ability to receive a DOD security clearance.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to work with high voltage equipment .
  • Familiarity or ability to learn to work with microwave/RF test and measurement equipment techniques.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow test and other procedures/instructions in writing.
  • Basic Math skills.
  • Ability to obtain “Qualified electrical worker”. certification, levels I & II w/in 2 weeks.
  • Must have the following Training:
    • Configure and set-up advanced RF equipment.
    • Qualified Electrical Worker level III.
  • Ability to Lift 25 pounds.
  • Good English Communication Skills.
  • Familiarity with and able to follow safety practices.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of employees to meet department goals.
  • Willingness to support the team by demonstrating commitment and initiative to find own solutions / remove roadblocks for successful completion of tasks.
  • Intermediate problem-solving skills. Ability to find own solutions / remove roadblocks for successful completion of tasks
  • Ability to conduct 100% of testing tasks independently.
  • Ability and willingness to train entry level Test Technicians
  • Ability to follow instructions to rework all non-conforming assembly to viable product.
  • Reliable & dependent. Ability/willingness to work OT and weekends.

Salary Range - $30.00 - $48.00 / hour
