Trade Finance Operations Executive (Oil / Commodity Trading)

We would like to hire a Trade Finance Operations Executive to support our growing trading activities and ensure smooth execution of trade finance processes.

Role Purpose

The Trade Finance Operations Executive will be responsible for managing end-to-end trade finance activities, acting as a key link between trading, finance, and external counterparties. The role ensures accurate documentation, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with contractual and banking requirements.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and expand the company’s trade finance and credit facilities with top-tier international banks across key financial hubs
  • Support negotiations on facility terms, limits, and pricing, ensuring optimal funding structure and cost efficiency
  • Execute and manage Letters of Credit (LC) lifecycle: issuance, advising, amendments, document presentation, discrepancy handling, and negotiation
  • Liaise closely with international banks on trade finance facilities, credit limits, and transaction execution
  • Review and ensure strict compliance of trade documents (BL, commercial invoice, certificate of origin, inspection certificate, etc.) in line with LC terms
  • Coordinate with traders and operators on cargo financing structures
  • Monitor payment timelines, maturity profiles, and financing costs to support trading PnL optimization
  • Manage discrepancies and claims with banks and counterparties, minimizing financial and operational risks
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, credit approvals, and regulatory requirements (KYC, AML, sanctions compliance)
  • Maintain accurate records of all trade finance transactions and support audit / reporting requirements

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Business, Logistics, or related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in trade finance, banking, or commodity trading operations
  • Strong understanding of LC processes and trade documentation
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) is required
