As a Truck Driver at Ryerson, you will be responsible for the safe operation of a 36 to 48ft roll-tite commercial truck to deliver material to customers, primarily in the Winnipeg area.

Shift: Monday to Friday 7:00AM to 5:00PM. No overnight trips required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip inspections and preventative maintenance checks
  • Reviews shipping documents and organizes daily schedule as per customer needs and geographical locations
  • Ensures that all paperwork such as tests reports & packing slips are in order for delivery to the customer
  • Straps down product and ensures the loaded truck can facilitate efficient and safe off loading or re-builds load prior to leaving the facility
  • Adheres to all safety policies including wearing Company provided PPE at all times when performing duties
  • Loads, safely straps and unload trucks using forklifts and or/cranes
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Perform all other duties/trips as requested
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred
  • Class 1 license with air brake endorsement required
  • 3-5 years tractor/trailer experience in both manual and automatic transmission required
  • Ability to safely drive in all terrains and weather conditions
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract; current driver’s abstract must be submitted
  • Knowledge of truck loading capacities and trucking regulations
  • Strong understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to the position, in compliance with the provincial regulations and the company’s policies
