The Opportunity
Veris are seeking a skilled and motivated Utility Locator to join our team. The Utility Locator will be responsible for detecting and mapping underground utilities, ensuring the accuracy and safety of our clients' projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
In the role you will be required to perform field based utility location activities including the collecting, recording and managing subsurface data to meet the requirements of the client. Occasional regional and interstate work could be required on short stints.

About You
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate.
- Qualifications in utility mapping, surveying or equivalent experience gained in a similar role
- Proven skills and experience with subsurface utility detection, location and verification utilising a broad range of best practice industry technologies such as Ground Penetrating Radar, SONDE, Wands etc.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with Veris team locators and surveyors
- Strong understanding of Australian Standard AS 5488-2022 Classification of Subsurface Utility Information (SUI)
- Experience managing field teams
- The ability to understand and interpret a broad range of utility asset owner plans and diagrams
- Excellence in communication and client relationship management
- Ability to think strategically and innovatively to build the services provided
- Proven understanding of a business where utilisation & efficiency is the key to success
