Job Title: UX Manager

Reports to: Director of Product

Location: Ireland / UK / Remote

The UX Manager will lead the user experience strategy and execution across BoyleSports’ digital product suite, overseeing a growing team of UX Designers and Researchers. This role is pivotal in driving customer-centric design decisions, ensuring a consistent, intuitive, and engaging user experience across all digital touchpoints. Working in close collaboration with the CX Lead, Product Managers, Engineers, and business stakeholders, the UX Manager will ensure the design organisation scales effectively with the business, while championing accessibility, inclusivity, and delivering omni-channel consistency.

Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

UX Strategy & Vision

  • Define and execute a clear, forward-thinking UX strategy aligned with the broader CX vision and company goals.
  • Guide BoyleSports’ transition to an omni-channel, customer-first design approach across product verticals.
  • Bring strong product thinking and design leadership to cross-functional teams, ensuring experiences are cohesive, high-quality, and purpose-driven.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, digital behaviour shifts, and global sports betting UX patterns to inform the design roadmap.

Design Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of UX Designers and Researchers, providing feedback, coaching, and development support to foster a high-performing design culture.
  • Drive best practices in user-centred design across squads, embedding research and experimentation into design processes.
  • Champion BoyleSports’ design principles and ensure consistent application across journeys, platforms, and devices.
  • Own the maintenance and evolution of the design system, promoting scalable, consistent, and reusable UI patterns.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work

  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver seamless product experiences.
  • Work alongside internal and external stakeholders to resolve design problems, define user journeys, and align implementation plans.
  • Act as a strong voice for customers in prioritisation, trade-offs, and solution definition conversations.
  • Ensure all design output meets both regulatory and accessibility standards.

Research & Customer Understanding

  • Plan and lead user research and usability testing initiatives to uncover actionable insights and validate design direction.
  • Use data, behavioural insights, and qualitative findings to drive iterative improvements and measure UX success.
  • Foster a culture of discovery and experimentation to build empathy with users and drive continuous learning.

Design Consistency & Omni-Channel Thinking

  • Ensure that experiences across products and platforms are coherent, intuitive, and fit-for-purpose for the needs of our diverse customer base.
  • Embed accessibility and inclusive design practices from concept to delivery.
  • Collaborate with the CX team to define and uphold customer experience standards across web, mobile, and retail integrations.

Continuous Improvement & Scaling

  • Drive the UX function’s growth in maturity, structure, and capability to meet the demands of a rapidly scaling business.
  • Proactively identify gaps and opportunities in design workflows, tools, and ways of working.
  • Create scalable processes for delivering quality design at pace, without compromising on usability or aesthetics.

Specialist Skills and Experience Required:

  • 6+ years of experience in UX/product design, with at least 2+ years in a people management or leadership capacity.
  • Strong track record of designing digital products with complex user journeys and multiple touchpoints, ideally in betting, gaming, or transactional platforms.
  • Deep domain knowledge of sports betting, iGaming, or similarly complex, high-frequency transactional platforms is essential.
  • Deep knowledge of user-centred design principles, interaction design, and behavioural research methods.
  • Experience managing and evolving design systems in collaboration with design and engineering teams.
  • Confident in planning and leading research activities, analysing findings, and driving design decisions from insights.
  • Proficient in Figma and other industry-standard design and prototyping tools.
  • A confident communicator who can engage stakeholders at all levels and advocate for the customer in business-critical discussions.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
  • Experience working in Agile, Lean, or cross-functional product teams.
  • Passionate about improving the digital customer experience and creating delightful, frictionless journeys.
  • Demonstrable experience leading or contributing to a digital rebrand or large-scale design refresh across multiple products is highly desirable.
  • Experience aligning brand, UX, and product strategy during a rebrand or major visual identity evolution is a strong advantage.
