Veterinary Technician

The Animal Medical Center of Gloversville NY is currently looking to hire an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician at our busy small animal hospital. You will be an integral part of our veterinary team, providing compassionate care to animals and supporting veterinarians in various tasks. Your core skills in animal handling, veterinary terminology, and pet care will be essential in ensuring the well-being of our patients. You should have good knowledge of current veterinary medical practices and procedures, along with working knowledge of anesthesia, surgical, vaccination techniques and animal anatomy. This involves responsibility for performing duties required in carrying out medical orders as prescribed by the Veterinarian which requires an understanding of veterinary science. In addition to greeting the clients in a professional manner and their pets, the job duties include tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of the office. You must possess organizational skills, exhibit excellent telephone and in-person client service and communication skills. You will assist the veterinarians in providing care for animals by preparing examination rooms and appointments. You must be effectively able to read and speak the English language and write legibly. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm under pressure and work collaboratively with others in a team-oriented environment. You must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at once and have close attention to detail. Excellent computer skills are a must as we are paperless. Candidates must have compassion for animals and their owners. Keep a professional appearance. Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 38 per week
