Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President, Anti Money Laundering.
Principal Responsibilities
The Senior AML Manager is responsible to ensure team manages the Compliance risks that it faces
The role holder is responsible for ensuring that operations and controls are effective in countering the risk that might be used or targeted for financial crime activities. The role is a key risk management role with a broad remit and responsibilities including:
- Accountable for implementing policy for the AML risk management framework to meet requirements and legislation in the region
- Accountable for implementing the Bank’s strategy, policy and standards, controls, systems and policies are being implemented at the country level
- Lead projects to work with relevant contacts in Global Businesses and Global Functions to ensure consistent and effective application, and implementation, and controls to evidence related to AML standards, policies and procedures
- The role holder is responsible for the setting and maintenance of the overall strategic direction for AML across Lines of Businesses within HSBC Singapore, working collaboratively with the Lines of Business and other Compliance functions
- To provide strategic direction and guidance with respect to AML related issues including the development and implementation of a robust risk management framework
- To embed and subsequently manage the BAU AML escalation/case advisory activity
- Act as principal point of contact for internal and external stakeholders in relation to AML risks (including regulators, industry forums)
- Create analytical models and implement AML framework for the effective risk-based monitoring of the AML risk.
- Provide proactive challenge to control owners on AML related controls and its effectiveness on an ongoing basis
- Provide support on FC risk assessment for Business strategic projects with digital support and innovative solutions
- Agree and oversee the monitoring of the adherence to the financial crime risk elements of the Compliance FIM
- Seasoned professional with experience in Compliance roles or particularly in FCC with AML risk exposure
- Excellent writing and presentation skills particularly report/policy writing
- Significant leadership experience and an experienced strategic thinker
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels
- Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex global issues
- A legal or formal risk management qualification or professional background in relevant risk or audit discipline
