Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer (Volunteer) to support nonprofit fundraising and development efforts. This role is responsible for researching funding opportunities and developing compelling grant proposals to help expand Veteran-focused programs across the United States.

This is a volunteer (unpaid), remote position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify grant opportunities (foundations, federal, and state funding)
  • Evaluate funding sources for alignment, eligibility, and competitiveness
  • Write, edit, and submit grant proposals and supporting materials
  • Ensure proposals meet all application guidelines and compliance requirements
  • Track grant deadlines, submissions, and reporting timelines
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather program data and outcomes
  • Assist with donor and funder engagement efforts

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate student or graduate in Public Health or related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Prior grant writing experience (required)
  • Proven ability to write or contribute to successful grant proposals
  • Strong writing, research, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Location Requirement

  • Applicants must be physically located within the United States (not limited to work authorization)

Commitment Expectations

  • 2–4 hours per week
  • Consistent weekly availability required
  • Preferred minimum commitment of 3 months

May qualify for practicum, internship, or volunteer credit depending on academic program.
