EEO/AA/M/F/Disabled/Vets Job Description : NewsCorp is looking for a Web Development Intern in NYC that will assist the Web team to implement and scale our Web Developer Portal (WDP) and assist other NewsCorp teams with their web-based projects. Intern Roles and Responsibilities:

• Create tests for our WDP
• Collaborate with teammates to define, design, and shape new features
• Work in an Agile development environment develop and release software in 2 weeks sprints
• Collaborate with the team members of a global team across all time zones
• Research and propose solutions for bugs in the backlog
• Participate in code reviews
• Document processes and current architecture
• Troubleshoot and debug to optimize performance
• Expertise in building Web user interface, business logic and other standard Web-based features
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and continuous integration
• Research and suggest new products, applications and protocols
• Stay up-to-date with new technology trends

Specific Project Deliverables:

• Integrate new plugins to our WDP
• Testing plan to automate our WDP
• Research papers on new tools and technologies we can utilize

Required Technical Skills and Software Applications:

• 1+ years in either:
  • AWS
  • GCP
• 2+ years in either:
  • ReactJS or AngularJS or similar frameworks
  • HTML/CSS/JavaScript
  • NodeJS

Qualifications:

• Rising seniors pursuing Computer Science degrees
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university or technical/finishing school
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
• Operates as a team player and has an intellectual curiosity
• Ability to prioritize and to work under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail

NYC Pay Range: from $25.00 per hour to $37.00 per hour Job Category: We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
