We are currently seeking to fill the position of Weekend Kitchen Assistant.

Available Schedule:

We are seeking to fill our weekend morning shift.

Part Time: Saturday & Sunday 7am-2pm Flexibility is a plus as there may be the possibility of additional hours during the week

Salary Range: $17 - $18 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Responsibilities:

In the role of Kitchen Assistant, you will execute a variety of tasks that mirror those of the Executive Chef, encompassing meal preparation tasks such as precise measurement, skillful mixing, and cooking of ingredients as per established recipes. Additionally, you will take on the crucial responsibility of estimating food requirements, meticulously planning, and overseeing the entirety of food preparation within our bustling kitchen environment. Your commitment to upholding Company policies, encompassing meal schedules and stringent standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety, will be integral to our operations. Moreover, your expertise will shine as you present dishes attractively, ensuring portions align with our company's high standards. Engaging with our valued residents during daily visits to the dining room, you will actively seek feedback to continuously enhance our food service experience. As a leader in the kitchen, you will supervise and guide other kitchen workers, accurately estimating food needs, and effectively managing the flow of food supplies. Handling incoming deliveries, scrutinizing invoices for accuracy, and skillfully managing the rotation of inventory will fall within your domain. In cases of loss or equipment damage, you will promptly report to the Executive Chef, maintaining the integrity of our resources. Your shift will culminate in meticulous kitchen closing procedures, involving the thorough cleaning of equipment and surfaces to ensure a pristine environment.

Assistance and Support:

Your role as a supportive team member will encompass a range of essential tasks. Assisting in the preparation of intricate dishes, skillfully slicing vegetables, crafting appealing salads, and handling cold items will be part of your culinary repertoire. Diligent maintenance of cleanliness standards will be evident as you clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware, leaving no detail overlooked. Adeptly operating and cleaning kitchen equipment and appliances, you will ensure a safe and functional culinary environment. Your contributions to meal service will extend to setting up for daily offerings, brewing coffee, and artfully arranging salad and soup carts. During mealtime, you will assist with table bussing, making seamless transitions between courses, and meticulously resetting for future meals. Demonstrating warmth and helpfulness, you will serve food to residents, extending the dining experience beyond the kitchen. Managing waste collection and disposal, as well as assisting with stock management and storage organization, will showcase your attention to detail. Daily cleaning projects, guided by the Chef on Duty, will maintain the kitchen's impeccable standards. As your shift concludes, you will ensure all work areas are meticulously cleaned, and closing procedures are diligently executed.

Qualifications:

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone eager to learn and grow. While an understanding of basic food preparation, safety, and sanitation practices is helpful, we are willing to train the right candidate. A positive attitude, strong teamwork, and a willingness to follow instructions will be key to success in this role.
