Welding Instructor/Tutor - Dundalk, Co. Louth

Hartley People Training is seeking an experienced Welding Instructor to deliver high-quality, in-person training to learners in Dundalk in preparation for EN9606 assessments in MIG, MMA and TIG welding.

You will plan, coordinate and deliver practical and theoretical training, ensuring learners are fully prepared for certification in the following modules:

  • EN9606-1CS10 – M.I.G.
  • EN9606-1CS01 – MMA
  • EN9606-1SS01 – TIG

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver structured welding training (practical and theory) to prepare learners for EN9606 assessments in carbon and stainless steel. Position
  • Induct learners, including Health & Safety, course plan, assessment criteria, housekeeping and course rules.
  • Maintain a safe workshop environment, identifying and reporting Health & Safety risks and recording any incidents.
  • Create an inclusive, supportive learning environment and identify learners who may require additional support.
  • Record learner attendance and complete all required administration, reports and documentation on a weekly basis.
  • Use appropriate training tools, resources and materials to deliver high-quality training in line with agreed plans and specifications.
  • Organise and support assessment events with the certifying partner, ensuring full compliance with assessment guidelines.
  • Support learners with progression to work placement or further education on completion of the programme.

Essential Requirements

Pedagogical (Teaching) Requirements

  • Train-the-Trainer or equivalent teaching/training qualification.

and/or

  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience delivering training with substantial direct learner contact time. Position

Professional Requirements

  • Welding/Engineering qualification at NFQ Level 7 or higher (or equivalent).
  • Strong practical experience in MIG, MMA and TIG welding, including carbon and stainless steel.
  • Proven experience bringing a welding class through to successful external assessment/certification (e.g. EN9606). Position

  • Ability to build rapport and provide clear direction and support to learners from diverse backgrounds.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term, Specified-purpose
Contract length: 4 months

Expected hours: 32 per week
