Woodshop Labourer - 2nd Shift (2pm-10pm)

The Woodshop Laborer is responsible for assisting in preparing, cutting, assembling, and finishing wood components used in construction projects. This role involves operating woodworking tools and machinery, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and following company standards to ensure high-quality production.

Essential Functions:

  • Measure, cut, sand, and assemble wood materials according to project specifications.
  • Operate hand, power, and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with preparing wood components used in shipping, crating, and installation of water tanks.
  • Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Inspect materials and finished products for quality control and report defects to supervisors.
  • Follow safety protocols, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping, disposing of waste materials, and returning tools to storage.
  • Assist in other general labor tasks to support production and operations.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One plus years of experience in a woodshop, carpentry, or construction setting preferred.
  • Basic understanding of woodworking techniques and materials.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools such as band, table, and radial arm saws.
  • Ability to measure and cut wood accurately using measuring tapes and rulers.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure quality control.
  • Physically capable of lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.) and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
