Position Objective:

The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for coordinating with the management team of the Porsche Experience Centre Toronto (PEC) to support the vehicle fleet of the PEC. The vehicle fleet is the key element of a PEC, and proper maintenance and support is essential to its success.

The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for coordinating with internal Porsche resources and vendor-supported teams to ensure the PEC has an appropriate and well-maintained fleet to service the business. This requires that fleet inventory is ordered, tracked, serviced, transported, and retired within Porsche guidelines. At the workshop level, this role is accountable for supervising the workshop technicians for labor reporting, training and certification, and efficiency. The role is also responsible for maintaining all parts-related activities: ordering, returns, and inventory; as well as submitting warranty claims as necessary for the PEC fleet and customer vehicles as part of the New Vehicle Delivery (NVD) program.

While the PEC strives to maintain most vehicles on-site, from time to time the Supervisor will need to coordinate with Porsche Service Center resources. The Workshop Supervisor will also oversee a team of logistics and detail staff. It is the Supervisor’s responsibility to ensure that all Porsche-owned vehicles and display vehicles are properly maintained and staged to support the drive operations and showcase the brand.

The Porsche Experience Center (PEC) is a brand immersion destination for automobile enthusiasts. It offers the ability for guests of all ages to take in the heritage of the brand, experience the Porsche lifestyle and the thrill of the drive, allowing Porsche to build connections with people from all walks of life. Guests visit the PEC primarily to engage in driving experiences behind the wheel of a Porsche vehicle on a purpose-built driver development track.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all PEC fleet maintenance operations, reporting to the Manager of PEC Operations
  • Liaise and coordinate with the drive team to ensure synergy and alignment of maintenance schedule and work requests
  • Liaise with Porsche dealers if cars need to be scheduled for offsite repair
  • Ensure vehicles are repaired properly the first time and on time for all PEC fleet used for track activities
  • Accurately document all necessary repairs and retirements using the approved Dealer Management system
  • Manage parts inventory in Porsche systems (SAP and PBS)
  • Effectively communicate with the PEC Logistic Lead to monitor and report on the progress/status of fleet vehicles
  • Provide a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts with an established time of completion and follow up as needed
  • Maintaining all service records for the PEC fleet
  • Ensuring correct level of parts stock required for fleet maintenance, including tires, brake pads, brake rotors, etc.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out to Porsche workshop quality standards, policies and procedures
  • Facilitate the orientation of new team members in collaboration with the Manager of PEC Operations by familiarizing them with work surroundings, explaining work hours, procedures, use of equipment, and job expectations to ensure that new team members understand their respective duties

Primary Responsibilities:

Prior to PEC opening:

1) Support the RFP processes for onboarding fleet support vendors for the PEC Toronto

2) Establish workshop procedures for PEC Toronto

3) Recruit & Hire team members

Once PEC is open:

  • Maintain good relationships with other stakeholders
  • Manage proper maintenance of tools, equipment, and other materials in the workshop
  • Facilitate the training and development of team members in the department by providing feedback and coaching to support improvements in their job performance
  • Ensure product training, via the Porsche Academy, takes place when required for PEC fleet car technicians
  • Evaluate the impact of possible work delays, interruptions or changes in plans to develop appropriate course of actions
  • Assist the Manager of PEC Operations with special reports or work as needed
  • Review PEC fleet service orders and inspect the quality of the technician’s work before the release of a vehicle
  • Review RO’s to ensure that all actions have been documented according to workshop policies and procedures
  • Management of all parts related operations i.e. stocking parts, placing orders, facilitating returns, inventory checks, etc.
  • Management of warranty, responsible for processing recalls, service campaigns and warranty repair claims carried out by PEC Workshop
  • Ensuring PEC Workshop meets all government environmental and safety standards
  • Ensure and monitor new customer deliveries PDIs are scheduled and inspected to the highest standard
  • Ensure new vehicles are being detailed to high quality standard
  • Overseeing the team responsible for all PEC fleet logistics and scheduling in accordance with PEC track operations
  • Fleet tracking from ordering to on-site use and retirement using Porsche systems
  • Serving as main contact for all PEC fleet needs (transportation, fuel, tire disposal, etc.)
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business / Engineering or Technical School Degree preferred, or equivalent

Experience (Job and Industry):

  • 7+ years working experience in the automotive industry, preferably in After-Sales / Fixed Operations
  • Previous service experience in Porsche dealership preferred
  • Significant experience with, knowledge of, and exposure to the Porsche brand preferred
  • Experience in the automotive industry and/or a track environment is preferred but is not a requirement
  • Service writing at a dealership for luxury car or VW family brand preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
