Job Description
What We Are Looking For
If you are someone who values precision, works confidently with data, and takes pride in getting the numbers right, we are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Finance Officer.
This role suits someone who enjoys working with financial information, ensuring accuracy and integrity across systems, and understands that reliable financial data underpins strong business decisions. You bring a structured approach to your work, while also being adaptable and comfortable operating in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
You will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy of financial data, supporting reporting, and ensuring finance processes are completed consistently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records, registers, and reporting data to support compliance and business decision-making.
Process invoices, expenses, and financial transactions with a high level of accuracy.
Process payroll and ensure accurate timesheet data feeds into financial systems.
Support month-end processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.
Ensure financial systems and records are current, organised, and auditable.
Monitor data integrity across finance systems and identify discrepancies.
Prepare financial information and supporting documentation for internal stakeholders.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities where required.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive financial information.
Provide general finance and administrative support to the wider business.
Location
Swordfish is headquartered on North Terrace in the Adelaide CBD with our teams operating from both the CBD and our client's sites in the northern suburbs.

Desired Skills and Experience
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts, or similar role.
Strong numerical and analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines.
Comfortable working in a flexible environment with evolving priorities.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Experience with finance and business administration systems (e.g., Xero, Fathom, ELMO, Employment Hero).
Pre-Employment Requirements
It is a requirement that the successful candidate must provide proof of Australian Citizenship to gain appropriate Defence Security Clearances.
