Junior Accountant

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to kickstart their career in a supportive environment where accuracy and integrity are highly valued. You will work closely with the Senior Accountant to ensure the company’s financial records are maintained with precision and comply with local regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Junior Accountant, your core focus will be on supporting day-to-day financial operations and maintaining the general ledger. Your responsibilities include:

• Bookkeeping & Data Entry: Record daily financial transactions (Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable) in the accounting system with high accuracy.
• Bank Reconciliation: Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements to ensure ledger balances match bank statements.
• Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of monthly and quarterly tax requirements (e.g., VAT, Withholding Tax) in compliance with BIR regulations.
• Financial Reporting: Support the month-end and year-end closing process by preparing schedules and initial financial statements.
• Disbursement Management: Process employee reimbursements and supplier payments, ensuring all necessary supporting documents (ORs and Invoices) are valid.
• Audit Support: Assist internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation and explanations for audit queries.
• Documentation: Maintain an organized digital and physical filing system for all financial records and correspondence.

Qualifications

• Education: Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy (BS Accountancy).
• License: CPA license is a plus but not required for this junior role; however, candidates currently reviewing for the board exam are encouraged to apply.
• Skills: * Solid understanding of Philippine Accounting Standards (PAS) and PFRS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or SAP) is an advantage.
• Attributes: High level of integrity, keen attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
