Construction Labourer

Maguire Excavating Ltd is currently seeking individuals for construction labour to work in our well established company. We are a civil excavation contractor located in Saint John, New Brunswick. Our customers are commercial, institutional and industrial as well as residential. We offer competitive wages and a safe work environment. Working hours would usually be 8 to 10 hours, Monday to Friday. Hourly rate is depending on experience level.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assist with site preparation, including clearing, grading, and setting up work areas for excavation, concrete, and asphalt projects

- Perform pipe laying and assist with trenching, bedding, and backfilling in accordance with project specifications

- Assist with landscape installation and site restoration

- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment as required

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site by removing debris and properly storing tools and materials

- Follow directions from supervisors to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard

- Operate basic hand tools and small equipment safely and effectively

- Support traffic control and site safety measures when required

- Conduct work in compliance with all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulations

- Assist other crew members as needed to support overall project completion

Requirements:

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately

- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to established safety procedures and policies

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team-oriented environment

- Good verbal communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and crew members

- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor in demanding conditions

- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and varying job site environments

- Valid driver’s license and previous work in the construction industry would be an asset

- Dependable, punctual, and hardworking with a positive attitude

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
