Hvac Service Technician

We are looking for a dependable, responsible, self-motivated HVAC technician to join our team. This position will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and industrial HVAC equipment for a select group of long-term clients. This equipment includes roof top units, replacement air units, split systems, boilers, exhaust fans and VAVs.

Ventilation Solutions is a locally owned and operated mechanical contracting company that specializes in commercial and industrial maintenance and troubleshooting.

Skills:

• Valid driver’s license is required
• EPA II certification is required
• 2+ Years of experience is preferred
• Knowledge of HVAC systems and associated products
• Ability to read schematics, drawings, diagrams, and plans
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to professionally and effectively communicate (reading, writing, and speaking) with co-workers, superiors, and clients
• Willingness to collaborate with others, communicate questions, and accept feedback

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, repair, and replace ventilation, air conditioning, and heating systems
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment (filter changes, coil cleanings, belt changes, bearing greasing, etc.)
• Provide warranty services on previously installed equipment and systems
• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment or systems and form an efficient and effective plan to repair and/or resolve the problem
• Identify deficient equipment on jobsites and report findings to the office for replacement or maintenance recommendations
• Prepare for installation, maintenance, or replacement by identifying required materials, anticipating and minimizing difficulties, gathering measurements and other relevant specifications and details, and coordinating with other trades as needed
• Complete physical demands of the job (using a ladder, reading manuals and utilizing software, bending over when diagnosing or repairing equipment, lifting parts or boxes of materials, etc.)
• Ask for and arrange help on projects that require it
• Communicate any issues, problems, questions, or mistakes with supervisors in order to determine a quick and practical solution
• Follow company and client safety protocols
• Document all work accurately and timely using the company-provided software (training on the software will be provided)
• Complete and turn-in any required paperwork in a thorough, timely, and organized fashion.
• Maintain regular and frequent communication with the office dispatch team and direct supervisor
• Properly operate and maintain a company vehicle
• Responsible stewardship of company-owned equipment
• Reliably come to work each day on time and communicate any scheduling conflicts or appointments in advance
• Demonstrate a positive and professional demeanor when dealing with clients and with the general public to favorably represent the company
