Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead and manage our engineering team at Penco Products. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of new products and improvements to existing products. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership experience, and a passion for creating efficient and effective engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead and manage a team of engineers, including mechanical, electrical, and design engineers. Foster a collaborative environment that promotes innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Product Development: Oversee the engineering design and development of new products from concept to production, ensuring alignment with customer needs, market trends, and company objectives.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase engineering efficiency, product quality, and time-to-market. Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure successful product launches, troubleshooting, and customer feedback integration.
- Project Management: Manage and prioritize multiple engineering projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and resources are effectively managed.
- Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams and customers as necessary. Troubleshoot product issues and lead the team in resolving engineering challenges.
- Mentoring & Development: Provide mentorship and career development support for engineering staff, including performance reviews, training, and professional growth opportunities.
- Cost Management: Contribute to the cost estimation and budget planning for new products and engineering initiatives.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities are conducted with a focus on safety and compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of engineering experience, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience in product development, design, and manufacturing processes, ideally in the industrial or manufacturing sectors.
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and other engineering tools.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Deep understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing operations and supply chain management.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Experience with ERP and PLM systems.
