Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, Electrical, Automotive, or related fields).
- Specialization: Post-graduate degree or MBA in Project Management, Industrial Management, or Global Process Engineering (Preferred).
- Industry Experience: Solid experience in process/manufacturing engineering within the automotive sector (OEMs or Tier 1 automotive suppliers).
- Leadership: Proven experience in leadership roles managing technical teams (coordination, supervision, or management).
- Quality Tools: Mastery of automotive quality tools (Core Tools): APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
- Methodologies: Six Sigma certification (Green Belt minimum, Black Belt preferred) and mastery of Lean Manufacturing concepts (TPS, Kanban, JIT).
- Technology & Innovation: Knowledge of industrial automation, robotics, MES systems, and Industry 4.0 / Digital Twin concepts.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (GD&T) and proficiency in CAD/Simulation software (AutoCAD, Catia, or similar).
- Languages: Advanced or Fluent English (essential for global reporting and interface).
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes using Lean Manufacturing methodologies (VSM, Kaizen, 5S, SMED) to reduce waste and cycle times.
- Ensure proper balancing of assembly and production lines (Takt Time vs. Cycle Time) to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Map and optimize the flow of materials and information on the shop floor (Layout and Internal Logistics).
- Coordinate process engineering in the development and launch of new vehicles or components, ensuring compliance with the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) timeline.
- Participate in product design reviews focusing on manufacturability and assemblability (DFM/DFA - Design for Manufacturing / Assembly).
- Specify, quote, approve, and commission new equipment, tooling, robots, and automation devices, managing the Capex (investment) budget.
- Lead and update Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to mitigate quality risks.
- Ensure all processes and workstations are designed in compliance with ergonomics and safety standards (in synergy with the EHS/OHS team).
- Develop and implement mistake-proofing systems (Poka-Yokes / error-proofing devices) on the production line.
- Lead, train, and develop process engineers and technicians, fostering a high-performance and innovative culture.
- Monitor and report key area indicators (OEE evolution, scrap reduction, manufacturing costs, and standard hours per unit).
