Property Accountant

Job Summary
Growing and fast-paced family of companies is seeking a Property Accountant to join our team in Dallas. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial data and compliance with tax laws and regulations related to commercial property accounts.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of properties, including managing accounts payable and receivable, processing rent payments, and maintaining accurate general ledger entries
• Responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, conducting account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations
• Responsible for issuing tenant statements, reviewing maintenance and repair costs, forecasting cash flow, and analyzing variances to reconcile payments against contract values
• Perform budget forecasting, budget preparation and control activities
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and controls
• Conduct regular audits to ensure financial operations are accurate
• Collaborate with property management and leasing teams to ensure accurate billing
• Other duties as assigned by the Owner

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

• Solid understanding of accounting laws and principles, property management, and real estate law
• Proven work experience as a Property Accountant or similar role
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
• Strong communication skills for interacting with tenants, vendors, and management
• Experience in auditing, budgeting, and financial forecasting
• Proficient in computer programs, including Microsoft Office, Appfolio and Quickbooks
• Experience with Appfolio software a plus
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
