About Fifth & Emery

We opened our first location on the Plaza in 2015 and have continued expanding across the Kansas City area—adding Shoal Creek, Overland Park, Lenexa, and Zona Rosa. With another location planned in Olathe in early 2027, we’re building something special.

The Opportunity

Our management team supports around 70 employees across multiple locations, and we’re looking to add someone who can step in, lead shifts, and grow into a bigger role.

This is a hands-on position for someone who:

Your Role on the Team

As a Shift Leader, you’ll help drive daily operations and keep the store running at a high level during your shift.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading shifts and supporting team members throughout service
• Handling cash management and ensuring accuracy with registers
• Training and guiding new employees using our onboarding systems
• Maintaining company standards, cleanliness, and procedures
• Keeping the team organized and focused during busy periods
• Delegating tasks and following through to completion
• Assisting with inventory, orders, and in-store projects
• Supporting scheduling needs and adjusting staffing when needed
• Completing opening, closing, and mid-shift responsibilities
• Jumping in wherever needed as part of the team

Day-to-Day Expectations

• Open and close the store with confidence
• Complete register closes accurately (midday & end of day)
• Help with machine cleaning and flavor changes (scheduled days required)
• Train new team members and future shift leaders
• Lead with confidence and earn respect through action
• Stay in consistent communication with management
• Engage with team communication channels (including Discord)
• Assist with small operational tasks like printing materials when needed
